Aquinas chest waxing celebration
Jake Zembiec spent all season making opposing coaches pull their hair out. Then he celebrated a state title by pulling out his teammate’s.
After Aquinas won the New York state Class AA football championship, Zembiec posted a video of him ripping off a teammate’s chest hair with hot wax and then reveling with the state championship trophy.
The brave soul/victim is senior running back/defensive end Mike Soluri.
Zembiec is heading to Penn State in January and is the Rochester-area’s most heralded recruit in 30 years.

The Little Irish didn’t win by a hair, they crushed Saratoga Springs-II 44-19, leading 44-0 at one point, in the state championship game. Zembiec went 18 of 23 for 462 yards and four touchdowns, breaking the Section V career touchdown passes record in the process. The 6-3, 210-pound Zembiec ended his high school career as the Section V leader yardage (6,375) and his 37 TDs and 3,030 yards as a senior are single-season marks.
It is the second time in three years that Zembiec and undefeated Aquinas (13-0) won the whole ball of wax.
“We played awesome … As soon as we take that last knee, it’s surreal. It feel’s awesome,” Zembiec waxed poetic after the game.
The Little Irish won the title a year after having to forfeit in the playoffs. This year’s title got a lot off their chests, even more than expected.
“Running through the locker room there was a sign with all the seniors’ names on it that were kicked out (of the postseason last year),” linebacker Jamir Jones said after the win. “It just reminded us that we had to do it for them.”
Your move, Cam Newton. The “dab” and showing an ‘S’ on your chest? Please, these guys are ripping the hair off theirs.
